Introduction

For nearly 40 years, Festival Ballet of North Central Texas has been a cherished part of the North Texas arts community. Since presenting its first production of The Nutcracker in 1988, Festival Ballet has provided audiences with a professional-quality classical ballet experience while creating exceptional performance opportunities for young dancers throughout the region.

Each year, more than 130 dancers representing over 30 North Texas communities come together alongside guest artists from across the United States and Europe to bring this beloved holiday tradition to life. Through open auditions and a collaborative production process, dancers gain invaluable experience in the artistry, discipline, teamwork, and commitment required to participate in a full-length ballet production.

Festival Ballet proudly serves as a bridge between dance education and professional performance, inspiring the next generation of artists while creating memorable cultural experiences for audiences throughout North Texas.

Mission

Festival Ballet of North Central Texas enriches the cultural life of our community by producing professional-quality classical ballet performances while providing youth dancers with meaningful opportunities to grow as artists and performers.

Through collaborative productions that bring together dancers, educators, guest artists, volunteers, and community partners, we foster artistic excellence, discipline, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. We are committed to preserving and sharing the tradition of classical ballet while making high-caliber cultural experiences accessible to audiences throughout North Texas.

Community

Festival Ballet of North Central Texas is proud to be deeply rooted in the Denton community and the greater North Texas region. As one of the area's longest-standing nonprofit ballet organizations, we have spent decades creating opportunities for young dancers and bringing audiences together through the shared experience of live performance.

Throughout the year, Festival Ballet participates in community events, including performances at the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival and other local celebrations. Our annual production of The Nutcracker welcomes more than 2,000 audience members and serves as a holiday tradition for families across the region.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Festival Ballet relies on the dedication of more than 100 volunteers, the support of local businesses and sponsors, and the commitment of area dance schools and families. Together, we ensure that North Texas continues to have access to the beauty, artistry, and inspiration of classical ballet close to home.
